Rose Joy is an artist based in Memphis, Tennessee whose work explores themes of storytelling, nostalgia, hope, acceptance, and belonging. Through narratives rooted in imagination and emotional sincerity, she encourages viewers to embrace their imperfections, differences, disabilities, and difficult life experiences as meaningful parts of who they are. By celebrating authenticity and human complexity, her work advocates for self-acceptance and compassion toward ourselves and others.

Working primarily in ceramics, Rose Joy creates handmade miniature characters, often personified animals, alongside larger figurative sculptures. Drawing on a love of character design and narrative, she approaches each piece as a distinct personality with its own story to tell. Through playfulness, whimsy, and emotional depth, her work invites moments of connection while fostering empathy and understanding.

Rose Joy is currently pursuing her art education at the University of Memphis. Her work was selected for the University of Memphis 42nd Annual Juried Student Exhibition, where she received the Dixon Gallery and Garden Award, and was also exhibited at Off the Walls Arts in Memphis as part of the Planet Luminarus exhibition. She has further developed her studio practice through an internship with Memphis artist Becky Ziemer.
